School of Choice Information

A large number of students outside Lesher's boundaries opt to come into our school through the School of Choice program. We welcome school of choice candidates who are willing to work hard and make positive contributions to the Lesher community.

In Poudre School District we believe students who are happy in their school environment are more likely to achieve. Whether attending their neighborhood school or taking advantage of the schools of choice option, students can find the best learning environment to meet their needs.

Schools of Choice means students may attend any school in PSD on a space available, first-come, first-served basis. Transportation for students granted permission to attend a school outside their attendance area is the responsibility of the parents.

School Choice Application Information

Parents of secondary students (grades 6-12) may submit first round choice/open enrollment School of Choice Form online for the 2022-2023 school year. The order in which applications are received during this period does NOT affect a student’s chances of acceptance.

Parents must complete and submit a separate application form for each child. As part of the online process, the date and time of the application will be displayed along with a School Choice Application Confirmation Number. Parents are strongly encouraged to print and retain a copy of the confirmation.

Students who are currently attending Lesher by School of Choice are accepted for the duration of their Middle School education. They do NOT need to re-apply each year. A student who wishes to return to his/her neighborhood school MUST submit a School of Choice Application.

Once a school year begins, open enrollment (school choice) for that school year is over. Applying to attend another school is considered a transfer and must be approved by either the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools or Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools.

You may begin the school transfer process by completing the School Transfer Request, (also available in Spanish - School Transfer Request).
