I earned my BA from Westmont College with a major in English Literature along with a minor in Religious Studies. I then attended the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs for my MA in Secondary English Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently working to earn my administrative license at CSU with the goal of eventually becoming a principal.
I grew up near Wellington, Colorado and am a graduate of Poudre High School. I spent some time exploring life in many regions of our country, which was great, but I'm quite happy to be back in northern Colorado and working at Lesher.
“We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I am one of the W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) coordinators. This is an 8th-grade leadership group. In the past, I have also shared a passion of mine, tennis, with Lesher's 7th and 8th-grade students.
It is quite difficult for me to state my favorite book as it frequently changes. A few books I thoroughly enjoy are Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexi. Of course, I am also a big fan of Harry Potter and Wonder. American Born Chinese is a great graphic novel, and I loved listening to Echo in audio book form.
I am currently teaching 8th grade Language and Literature.
