“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Extra curriculars :

I work with our chamber orchestra ensembles. We meet before school at 6:50 AM. We will be starting off the year rehearsing two different ensembles: The Lesher Advanced Chamber Orchestra and The Lesher Chamber Orchestra.

Crazy fact:
I own a Quaker Parrot named Jake. He is a pretty talented little dude. I got him for Christmas when I was in the 7th grade and he's been my little buddy ever since. He can say over 20 phrases proficiently and is constantly learning new things. He's always doing something crazy or funny, so ask me about him and I'm sure I'll have a funny story to share :o) Currently Jake's main infatuation is being absolutely TERRIFIED of shadows! In fact, Jake is SO afraid of shadows, he will growl like a dog whenever something casts a shadow on the wall.
Favorite Book:

I LOVE ANYTHING written by C.S. Lewis. Some of my other favorites include: Little Women, Oliver Twist, ALL of the Harry Potter Books, and The Hunger Games series.

About My Classroom:

I'm so excited to have those of you enrolled in instrumental music, in class this year! We have some outstanding things planned for you!

Here's a Little More Background about me as a Teacher: I became a music director because I LOVED my music teachers growing up (I still keep in touch with most of them to this day). One thing that I noticed about some of my favorite music teachers was that they all had the uncanny ability to make their rooms safe and inviting places where we students could express ourselves in a unique and different way. -This has always been the standard that I hold my classroom and ensembles to.

I like to tell everyone that I don't "just teach music"... my goal is to teach you all the importance of camaraderie, self-expression, creativity, beauty, respect for one another, hard work, and responsibility. -Music is merely the "vehicle" in which you learn all of these things.
