The Lesher EDventure Club traveled to South America for a service learning adventure in Peru over Spring Break 2019. After touring Peru's capital city of Lima to learn about Peru's rich culture and history, our group traveled to Cuzco where we experienced traditional methods of weaving and making ceramics first-hand. We were wonderstruck by the mighty Andes Mountains and the picturesque views at Machu Picchu. One of the most powerful activities was the service learning portion of our trip at a Peruvian elementary school. Our passionate students worked extremely hard on various projects to help enhance the campus and made wonderful memories playing with the local students. Exploring ancient ruins, navigating foreign marketplaces, and overcoming a language barrier are just a few reasons why this trip helped our students grow as capable young adults and emerging global citizens.
The Lesher EDventure Club is traveling to Costa Rica in Central America for our next Spring Break adventure in 2020! From San Jose to Sarapiqui to Guanacaste, we’ll be immersed in the awe-inspiring land and culture of Costa Rica. This educational tour showcases the biodiversity of the region and includes visits to several national parks where our group will enjoy breathtaking sights of volcanoes, waterfalls, and rainforests with exotic wildlife. Students will explore this tropical paradise during exhilarating activities such as ziplining, whitewater rafting, hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling. Our group will also get to go behind the scenes at two plantations to learn how chocolate and coffee are produced.
