The Lesher EDventure Club recently returned from an incredible Spring Break adventure in Belize! Students cruised the New River and spotted exotic wildlife before exploring the ancient Mayan ruins at Lamanai. We learned jungle survival skills on a guided eco-hike in San Ignacio. At Xunantunich, we zoomed through the rainforest on zip lines, floated on tubes through Mayan-era caves, and were amazed by more historic Mayan temples. Our Lesher students loved bonding with Belizean students at a local school. We toured the Belize Zoo and traveled by ferry to Ambergris Caye were we snorkeled in the crystal waters surrounding the Belize Barrier Reef in the Caribbean Sea.

For our next Spring Break adventure in 2019, the Lesher EDventure Club is traveling to Peru in South America! From Lima to Cuzco to Machu Picchu, we’ll be immersed in the awe-inspiring land and culture of Peru. Our group will connect with local communities in the Sacred Valley and learn how they preserve their history, art, and their heritage. Students get to explore the archaeological remains of the Inca Empire and their lasting cultural influences. While enjoying the breathtaking sights from atop the mighty Andes Mountains, we’ll also spend two days working in a local community on projects that support economic sustainability, local agriculture, and access to education. The Lesher EDventure Club empowers students to experience the world and strives to enhance classroom learning. Please attend our parent information meeting on Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Lesher Viking Performing Arts Center to learn more about this exciting educational opportunity!
