Lesher’s First Ever FALL BIKE WEEK Was a Success, During a Snowy and Cold Week
All week we were celebrating those of you who biked to school, with donuts and other treats every morning near the bike racks. We had t-shirts and random prizes for those of you who biked, skated, scooted, rolled, and walked to school. Here are some celebrations from our Fall Bike Week:
- Throughout the week, we had more than 200 people check-in at the bike racks and we accumulated over 400 miles getting to and from school. That is like biking from Fort Collins to Denver… and back… 4 times.
- There were over 20 people who braved the cold and snow and biked to school EVERY DAY THAT WEEK! If you biked that week, we had t-shirts for anyone who didn’t already get one last May.
- There were other ways to be involved if you couldn’t bike to school! Many of you completed the challenge of the day on our Bike Passport and joined in the fun.
- As part of bike week, we have a bike to give away to a lucky Viking. Anyone who biked was entered to win our bike as well as anyone who completed our online survey and anyone who completed our Bike Passport. This year’s bike giveaway goes to Eduardo Nova for participating in our online activity!
Biking Vikings, keep on biking this Winter! Usually, it isn’t as cold and snowy as it was that week and we definitely saw that it is possible to bike in the winter. If you do bike, make sure to bundle up to stay warm, wear a helmet to be safe, and go a little slower to be very careful when it’s icy!
Great Job Biking Vikings! Keep on Biking!
